Meteor Crater Park
The plan had been to head out east of the Grand Canyon along narrow rutted paths on reservations of Navajo and Hopi. Obviously since we weren't trusting the van very much, that seemed a bad bit of planning. Sticking closer to Route 66 and services seemed in order. Skimming past the Petrified Forest, a logical stop along the road was an RV park in the desert very near Meteor Crater Park -- which became a breakfast stop along the tour. Rather than hit trading posts on reservations, we were reduced to tourist traps where pennies can be rolled out to keepsakes.
